SEAmod has left the (Amazon) building ... literally, and not in a "headed to that great beyond" kind if way (thankfully). Her last post on the ASF was close to when she left.
I knew it was bound to happen at some point. However, that doesn't change how I feel about things right now. I really wish it had been many years from now and under different circumstances. I know everyone won't feel the same about her absence, and that's OK. Some won't care, just because they don't really know much about her/you. Those who might take some sort of joy in this just don't matter to me.
While I know Amazon doesn't care about the loss, sadly I don't think the majority of sellers will realize how much of a loss this is to our community; how much she/you advocated for the average seller; all the behind the scenes work that went unnoticed. Well I noticed, as did many others, and I thank her/you for being the longest tenured AZ Employee Poster in the forums. Granted the last few years her/your participation has been on a lower level, yet it has still been there helping sellers.
I was in the OSFE when she/you first came in so many years ago, under DarrenK if I'm not mistaken. For a while you were even our lone Moderator, and that during a rough stretch for the ASF. Yet she/you kept it going, building on what DarrenK had started. Eventually even becoming our Global Admin covering every ASF around the globe.
I was privileged to be a part of a small'ish group, who spent a lot of time in the forums, who were able to help for a period of time with the OSFE. It allowed me to have more interactions with you than most. What I saw was a caring person who enjoyed her job and knew who to go to on our behalf when issues arose.

... and do not reflect what I know to be. Only 5K replies? Not possible. This was from 2023, which might not include posts made within certain groups.
I can't even imagine how many PM/DM conversations you had with posters.
I never got the chance to meet up with her/you. I wish I had! Hopefully though somehow in the near future we can make that happen.
People come and go here. I get that. You gave us many years and I can't thank you enough for that. In this day and time even more than a year of ASF participation is rare, so we should be thankful to have gotten so many.
Whatever life has ahead for you I hope that you enjoy it to the fullest! Don't look back!

i was under the impression there were various mods behind the handle...especially since, for awhile there, we were seeing posts that made absolutely no sense from a mod handle that had been here a decade or more....
I can echo those sentiments having witnessed many instances of genuine help.
With a refreshing directness.
Sorry to read this. @SEAmod will be missed!
It was clear that she was gone. I just didn't know where - to another "silo" or another employer.
I've made several references to her absence here, none of which, of course, garnered even a brief comment from Amazon confirming her departure, let alone offering an acknowledgment of her years of service.
No matter where she is, though, it is absolutely "a better place."
And she didn't even have to die to get there.
Thanks for it all, Susan! 🥂
She helped me several times. Always nice.
As a veteran seller, she could always be depended on. Thank you Susan. You will be greatly missed.
Sorry to say it. Forum mods are the last line of defense for us sellers. With emotions, problem solving skills. A thankless job. Cheers for SEAmod and other forum mods.
Seller support reads from the standard manual, automatic response robots.... Stooopid AI..
I have felt for a long time, especially in the NSFE forums that Susan was possibly the only MOD who really recognized and understood what goes on at Amazon, and had the courage to, at least somewhat, acknowledge it.
And although she wasn't really able to fully express things transparently, sometimes, if you read between the lines, you knew that she knew and she "got it", and I think she could be just as frustrated on our behalf as we were about things.
I think it would be very difficult to work somewhere where you can't be honest with people who need help and always have to communicate so carefully.
I'm glad she stayed as long as she did and wish her all the best. She will be missed as a knowledgeable, rare voice of reason.

I came here to post EXACTLY THIS. One quote I remember from Susan [paraphrasing] "just because Amazon's policy says what it does, doesn't meant that Amazon follows it"
Susan definately got it, which gave her the ability to actually help or be upfront that she was just as stuck as we were ... and to see us as actual sellers instead of just words in a forum post.
